So when the guy with 18's and 1000 watt amps is bumping should we pull over, do you allways hear the siren before the flashing lights. What if they outlaw big sound in your car, loud pipes due to this machine. Fire and ambulance I would lean twards these uses but a police car pulling over someone for a traffic stop. Then how long til someone clones it and starts having fun. How can someone tell who's got the Rummbler, the good guys or a bunch of clowns.

I think I understand what you are talking about. But loud exhaust is illegal in washington and now some cities are out lawing loud music. If I remember correctly, you should not be able to hear the music ten feet away from the car.

Noise pollution is unwanted human-created sound that has the effect of being annoying, distracting, painful, or physically harmful. People exposed to noise pollution suffer from hearing loss, sleep deprivation, chronic fatigue, anxiety, hostility, depression and hypertension. World Health Organization, National Institutes of Health, United Nations and numerous scientific and medical publications recognize noise pollution and its deleterious effects.

The intense sound caused by the Rumbler siren easily triggers an involuntary stress response commonly known as "fight or flight." This results in the secretion of adrenaline, with ensuing spikes in cardio-respiratory rates, muscle tension, and elevated blood pressure. Vibroacoustic Disease is a cumulative and chronic disease caused by exposure to infrasound. Infrasound is low frequency sound energy that affects the nervous system and prolonged exposure can lead to progressive medical conditions.

Federal Signal Corporation issues an explicit warning in its own marketing materials that its "sirens and speakers may cause hearing damage." Whelen Engineering advises operators to wear approved hearing protection.

TimR you are a fucking retard. Shut the fuck up already. What part of this is like a siren that you can hear better/feel do you not understand?

People sitting in their cars in a traffic jam with their music blasting can't hear a regular siren. High frequency audio waves are what damage your ear drums not low pitch bass tones idiot.

Maybe they'll find that elusive brown note. Lol.

this is the lulz, i could give five fucks less.... every black man in the bay area with a buick and 28" rims already has like 4 12's in his trunk, so this is not a big deal at all.... i think for emt's and firefighters this technology would be great, as for cops, i don't see such a use but there are times when they need to jet across town so i really could care less... and timR your ridiculous, this has nothing to due with tasers or physical harm.... i guarantee taking the rumbler from 25 ft away for 5 hours is no where near as bad as going to a club and getting your internals rattled by the bass for an hour.....

haha exactly what i was thinking i'd laugh my ass off if some cops had a defective rumbler and shat themselves.

I by no means am agreeing with TimR, but low frequencies like this can cause Pneumothorax. Essentially tearing a small hole in your lung(s) and is terribly painful (ask me how I know). Now I seriously doubt the short blasts from the cop cars will do this, but my point being that over exposure to low frequencies can in some cases cause damage to the human body and not just the ears. This goes for music as well. It's just something to think about.

Yeah, but it isn't like they are gonna turn it on and sit behind you for four hours.
