5-10K depending on the condition of the engine...and if you want a 2.5 stroker kit? yes you do.
A stock rebuild will run 2,700 in parts alone!

Edit...holyshit stupid shit has been done to those seats....

Even if your pal doesn't know much about Bimmers, it's probably in better hands than it was with the PO...

I know all about horrible POs. I just saved a 325 from a retard.

Wish I could have gotten an m3! I say get it and restore it. You'll probably end up helping your friend do a lot of the work anyway so might as well buy it and make it yours!

The rear seat is trashed and I just talked with the my buddy who owns it. I gave him some Numbers to crunch on getting this thing back to good looking status and he is ready to run away because let's face it, this thing needs work EVERYWHERE. He says he wants to restore it and flip it. I'm determined to get this thing.

These things don't happen very often and when they do, you must act quickly. I'd try to buy it from him if he's willing to make a smaller profit to help a friend out. Most of these cars were somebody's project at some point.

So many thing could be done with the car. Rebuild cost could be prohibitive. Do some exploratory engine work.

Too bad it doesn't have centerlock wheels like those other 2 lol
Drive it hard. Maintain it well.

The best thing about this thread is that the OP is no troll.

I say you buy it, fix it, and track the crap out of it!

I have the e30 m3 suspension with gc's race m3 setup. The full dinan weld in camber/castor rear subframe too. All the bolts and nuts say dinan on them. 900lbs in the rear and 650lbs in the front. A track m3 is a very achievable goal but honestly, I rather get this thing road worthy and proper. I have a good connect with a body/paint shop and I can do all the suspension/motor installation work myself.

I am getting way ahead of myself but dammit, I will punch myself if I don't make good of this opportunity.

Who do you know that rebuilds s14 for $1k Try about $6k for a proper rebuild, which is why there are now so many s50's in m3's

this is one of the most badass cars of all time, dont let it die.

1k might get you a cap, rotor, plugs and wires.

Anyways, I say go for it. It is kinda a once in a lifetime thing.
