    difference in brake lines?

    hey guys-
when i was browsing both the bavauto and turner motorsports sites, i noticed that their SS brake set-ups were 6 line kits. however (and i apologize ahead of time) while looking for for brake lines on ebay, i noticed that about half the kits were 6 lines and the other half were 4 lines. now, i have not been under my car in a while, but i would guess if bavauto sells 6 line kits, that four lines is not suffecient. am i wrong. maybe a difference between model years?

you talking about SS lines, the soft ones.

My E30 has no ABS and it has 6 lines. Two up front and then two softlines that go from the body to the trailing arm an then two really short ones that go from the hardline attached to the trailing arm to the caliper.

I think the 4 lines are just for the cars with the drum rears, since you dont have the caliper to move. You wont have drums since you are a 6-banger.

ABS only affects the hardlines and some wiring measuring wheelspeeds.

This should also be downtown in the tech forums, its more likely to be looked at by people who answer questions.

This is correct. ABS has no bearing on 'soft' lines.

Jesus this is how easily missinformation gets spread around here.
