    Would you buy this e30

well i'm new to the forum but not entirely new to e30s. i'm looking for one right now to buy and i just wanted to know if this car is worth the 3900 or not.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

i have a 1989 325IS for sale.... just lowerd last December 40mm and 60mm using Intrax springs with bilstein shocks all the way around. new paint (SI electronic blue), new tires on BBS rims, new T-belt,water pump,radiator...., power window and sunroof., 5 speed., cold a/c, 122,000k miles., runs real strong... $3,900 obo.

Just trll the guy O'Riley told you about it...Good luck
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

so what should i do????????? should i offer less i feel like 3900 is a lot but i don't know. all input is welcome

    Depends.

If its nice, I would pay upwards of 5 - 6 grand for a nice clean e30.

However most people here are cheapasses, who would rather *save money* and then spend the same amount fixing it up anyway.

    I would pay 3900 personally.

Expect somebody to come in here and say its worth 2500 bucks though, always a few in the bunch.

        found this interior pic

as long as it's clean i'd buy it. but i will probably swap the interior for black or houndstooth or something.

stereo installer-these are the highest res pics available i'm not the one selling i'm asking everyone if it is a good buy if it is then i'll buy it this weekend probably.

Find out where the paint job was done. If it was a Maaco respray, then don't bother at all, even if the seller lowered the price considerably. But since the paint matches in the door jams, then it's probably at least a half way decent job.
Also ask about other maintence items that weren't listed. Even if it has a gorgeous new paint job, a great interior and a solid engine, it's not worth $3900 if it needs every suspension bushing replaced and the brakes are shot.

Looks great, I like it alot.

I would say shoot for $3,500. I bought mine for $2,700 but it is definitely not as nice at that one. That seems to have a full paintjob done, including doorsills (check the engine bay too). Its worth it if the paintjob was well done.

paint job looks good from the pics, and the door jams are painted, so thats a plus. cheap ass paint jobs are not going to get u door jams and all that good stuff. drive it hard and see how the engine / clutch feel, then if its nice, offer him 3500. i paid 2k for my 88 325is, and then spent about 2G's getting it into good running condition( brakes, suspension, clutch).

It really depends on how good that respray is. And something is going on with that interior. The side bolsters look purple. It looks like it has seat covers or something.

check on how well the car was painted...and offer him $3500
most people know that your going to offer him lower....make sure the motor and tranny is running fine.
i paid $6000cdn out the door for my car. no a/c but runs great and body was in superb shape.
search for a e30 buyers guide on google....it'll give you tips on what to look for and stuff like that

well i have thought about some of the things you guys have said and didn't even think about those seat covers or if the engine bay is painted. i'm going to call him prolly tomorrow and if it sounds good then i'll look at it on thursday and take some better pics.

Seat covers are always a bad sign, but from those pics the paint appears to be ok, but again make sure it was painted at a reputable shop. Otherwise its going to look like complete shit in a year or two

There you go. Seriously do that. Have a mechanic look at it as well.

I wonder if it is an IS. Look under those covers and make sure it has sport seats. Hard to tell in the pic, but it looks like it is missing the lip.

My way of thinking, if the paint is a high quality job and the engine and other problem areas check out, 3900 is on the high side. Not crazy high, but more than I might pay.
