an impact isn't going to get that shit off any better than a good wrench/socket and some leverage.

Seriously here, I've got air impacts and a mac-daddy SnapOn cordless 18v 1/2" drive impact and I never use them on guibo bolts. If you can't fit a socket and breaker bar/cheater pipe on there, then use a box end wrench with another one on the open end side to make it longer- LEVERAGE will get it loose.

Save your $$$$- don't buy the HF cordless impact because it IS crap. If you must buy something from HF for this job, buy an 18" or 24" 1/2" drive breaker bar.

    Milwaukee cordless impacts KICK ASS.

Buy the little one, 1/4" or 3/8" drive.. it will actually fit up in the suspension or in the motor bay where you need it. And it's strong! If it can't get something loose, then it's stuck. Moving up to 1/2" is a waste of effort, just get the damn torch out before it strips off.

Especially HF, I never buy anything from them that is electrical.

The last thing I did get was a solar trickle charger for the Landcruiser which sits 90% of the time so always needed a jump to start. In ONE AFTERNOON in the Az sun damn thing melted. HOW CAN A SOLAR CHARGER MELT IN THE SUN???????

Axle retaining nut? I got that off with a 1/2" Torque wrench and a 3ft pipe extension and just bounced up and down on it. lol.

Ah, I was just wondering if that was the difference in bulkiness - obviously a 3/8" would be less bulky than a 1/2". Alright, nice to hear from someone that actually owns one. Rather than most people just saying they are "shit" cause they are cheap.

Impact guns need a BUNCH of air.
I am looking at electric ones. Still think the same of the HF one? lol.
