    Possible e30 purchase, have some questions...

    So I'm looking at 1990 vert to add to my 325e, but the pictures the owner sent me show it with diving boards. I thought the 1990 cars had plastics? If they are supposed to have diving boards, are the plastics a direct swap?

    Also, are there any suggestions of specific things to look out for on the verts?

    Verts are a couple years behind on some of the styling....db is right. On the flip side, they made them a couple years longer than other e30s. 93 was the last year, I think, 91 for the other cars.

      Correct, I think verts may have been made until '94 as well as tourings until the E36 versions were made.

        Okay, so then will a '90 vert take a direct plastic bumper swap or will it require custom fab work? In other words will it be like an '89 coupe?

          you will have to get the late model valances and the rear is the one you will have to cut and weld or there is other methods, but the front is the easiest.

            ^ what? no...

            if you want the late model rear valence just rivet it in place. the rear bumper will cover the rivets.

            even easier....

            just go with a replica mtech2 rear.

            the plastic bumpers themselves are a direct swap.
            AWD > RWD

              This is all I needed to know. Thanks, Kershaw. So just be clear... no custom fab work necessary? Just bolt it on and go?

                indeed my bad, bumpers are direct as stated but with out late valaces I think it looks funny.
