RPM gage is not working

In my 325is RPM Gage is not working do you guys know what might be problem? Fuse? Relay?

maybe. more likely its the wire with the ring that goes from the spark plug wire.

Does the temp one work? It could be the SI batteries.

Everytime mine goes it's the fuse. Place to start.

Try checking the tachometer, if problem persists use Bentley.

That causes mine to work, I think it may be a lose wire on the back.

Temp Gage is not working. Fuel is working.

Guys Temp, RPM & MPG gages are not working. Speedometer and fuel gages are working.

Our SI boards like to go crazy.

I don't think there is a definitive way of knowing, but my bet would be on SI shtuffs.

Same happened to me, it was a short, the wire that went by the transmission / gear shift lever. I clipped it and my gauges and everything worked. Of course now I have no reverse lights. :)

I have the same problem, but only intermittently (when I park it in the sun for a few hours)... and then it starts jumping around a little bit before it starts to work again (something cooled down?)

I see the tach signal wire on the ignition wire, which is connected and in good shape, now what is this SI board you're talking about?

usually swapping the plug or tach fixes the problem for me.

what is this you speak of? my rpm gauge doesnt work with my 318is. i swapped my speedometer into a friend of mine, and the rpm gauge works. swap it back, doesnt work.
