I'm peacing out for a week...

...not that I'll be missed. I've been gone for long enough.

Just to let those of you know, I'm not dead, nor am I disappearing, just enjoying waist-deep powder...for 5 days....

And, yeah, we're taking Tara's 318iS into that blizzard this afternoon. This will be a fun drive....

I want snow tires badly now.. it's been snowing here the last few days, and let me tell you Yokohama ES 100's suck in the snow!! I have no problems moving forward (ix), but stopping is impossible, and the car feels very unstable. I'm thinking of picking some up this week but I have no idea if the snow will be around for very long anyway.

        Had to get pics :P
You get 5 days of snow, tomorrow I'm going here:

Sorry the pics are so horrible, but all the other ones are just big white blobs :P It's snowing atm, I'm just pulling these off of webcams.

Here is a view from an adjacent mountain. The red line is what would probably be Mauna Kea (where I'm going) if it wasn't so cloudy atm.

You guys take snow for granted, I can't wait :)

              You bastard. ;)
Whenever we get powder over here, the goddamn state of New Hampshire shuts down all the highways, saying they are "impassable". Ironic, eh?

              Are you skiing or boarding?

                Skiing...fo sho

808- Last time I was on the big island (about 5 years ago over spring break) there was a little patch of snow on top of Mauna Kea. We hiked over to it, and played around.

People are always like "WTF?^^ mate" when I say I had a snowball fight on a volcano...in Hawaii....hehe

2 years ago we had the best snow in the last few decades. It went all the way down to like 10k feet.
My friend went up with his whole family, they are all big hawaiian guys with big full size trucks :P They brought shovels, and filled up 3 full size beds with snow, went down to the middle of town and had a snowball fight. Coolest thing ever :P

i got my snows mounted on the steelies on saturday, put them on monday

too bad all the snow is pretty much melted here lol.

i went snowboarding 3 times in that last week and a half though. it was nice.

and I just found out the owner of the snowboard shop I work at is taking the manager to Utah for his christmas bonus, so the owner said he probably won't want to go to the On Snow demo in Killington, and said I get to go!!!!! working at a shop is sweet!

plus i leave saturday for jamaica, i'll be back the 12th. HOLLA!

1.5 feet of snow while I was up there. Decided to come back early. Too many friends leavin' town until summer.

I went up. Winds were just starting to hit 30 mph as I was leaving. Winds are at about 65 mph atm, roads closed, more snow coming :)
I'm going back on tuesday. Here's some pics. May seem lame to you guys, but snow is a big event (I live in Hawaii) so I get pretty excited.
A view of the whole mountain:

                              Ascending the mountain:

                              Some snow:

Conditions worsening (up towards the summit). Snow started going onto the road, it started hailing on us (cool) and we were following my uncles truck:

Me, on my 1 trip down the hill on my bodyboard:

Me, my cousin (I've posted his minitruck, as well as his camo CRX) and our friend, with my little brother in the back. Our friend's truck was full of snow. I saw at least 40 trucks full of snow, he was one of the many bringing some home:

You guys are lucky you have snow to play in. For our snow, it was about 2 1/2 hours to get there, 1/2 hour in the snow, and maybe 2 hours to get back. We traveled up to about 13,00 ft. elevation (Mile high stadium ain't got shit) and stayed while it was getting windy, and it was raining.
