Okay, so here is a truly Ghetto Modification on my e30 that I just love. I have a Suzuki SV1000 Muffler in place of the stock muffler. When I bought the car there was no muffler at all as the P.O. had backed into a curb and the muffler broke off right after the upwards bend behind the cat. After a few months of driving it without a muffler I really like the loud sound but my family wasnt so happy about it. So I thought a great compromise would be to push the sound from under the car to behind the car by welding on straigh pipes. One of my friends said he had some stock pipes from a Suzuki SV1000 he was going to throw away so I took them and after only about an hour of cutting and 3 dollars in clamps I now have a ghetto exhaust that I just love. The sound is still loud but much quieter and more refined than the "no muffler" sound and it doesnt look horrible or over the top. Actually I like the look alot and it sounds better than ever. So if you have a ghetto mod on your e30 that you love post it up here!

cant you open those up and replace the glass? not a bad idea.
most recent 'ghetto' for me was swapping regulators from a bad alternator to an alternator that has a brush failure. zero money spend and its charging at a full 14v.
or, better yet... chopping apart an old muffler to remove the skin from the tip and place it over the tail pipe of my 318is so its not just a rusty hunk of metal. spaced it with some bar stock, looks great!
