Who has spent more on fixing an E30 than its purchase price?

Well I have now. Bought my mint 318i for R22500 ($3500) and now after 4 years and this last gearbox replacement ive spent more on repairs than what I paid for the car. Though I must admit alot of it was cosmetic resprays and shit. Fuck this car is expensive and its not even light on fuel, anyways. Who else is in the same boat as me.

James Crivellone has probably spent 2-3x as much as he paid for his car....

I paid $850 for my car and I've put atleast that into her. The cheaper the car the easier it is to do it...

A better question might be "who HASN'T spent several times the value of their car"!

i spent 6k on the touring, and even with the cost of the stroker, suspension, and body mods, I only have like 1/3 of the initial cost into it.

Ive spent 300 on my ix....

But thats only this summer and general maintenance shit like the t belt and water pump. Im thinking the clutch will need to be replaced in the next 10 or 15k, so thatll most likely increase that number

$18k later lol... make that 21k if you add up all the big brakes/5lug stuff going on the car shortly.

My 87 325ic - paid 2k for it back in '01. I have spent at more than that on it - on basketweaves (200), bumper swap (250), Suspension (350), exhaust (150), seats (150), new top (400), trunk lid (50), smileys and euro grilles(200), Alpina steering wheel and shift knob (250), shift boot and e brake boot (75), many minor trim pieces (200 at least), windshield and dash (200), Maintenance items - t belt and water pump and engine seals (100), radiator (50), oil, spark plugs, filters, etc (150-200??), tool kit and jack (40), is lip (100), sparco bar (90), and many other things I can't recall . . .

The 87 325es - I paid 350 for it, and have double that in parts/repairs - mainly because of the clutch that needed to be replaced and the exhaust. Just spent another 200 on Azenis and baskets for it - so it is becomng another money pit. :D

lol. I have alot more then that, don't be stupid.

Most of the shit is tallyed up here, invoiced items don't have details as i was just punching numbers off of the invoices. Non-invoiced have details, as i have no invoice for those.

you better plan on tracking that shit or something. id hate to see a nice 2.8 with big brakes go to waste driving around town.
