what about a free car :)

    so far its comes to
    shocks/springs 250
    THR Cabs- 100
    European bumpers-350
    euro grilles- 30
    Mtech1 kit-530 (sold sides for 200)
    Zender sides-160 ( i think)
    2.5 SSK-80 (i think)
    MF muffler-130
other little things- probably around 100

I've sold many parts so I'll have to say I'm probably about even with my E30 experience.

hmm. $450 on pistons, $300 on machine work to the head, don't remember the cost of t belt, gaskets, seals, etc. $300 or so for Ground controls, $100 something on adjustable camber plates, $40 or so on rsms, $300 or so on smt6, $125 on armrest, $howevermuch on shift boot and ebrake boot, ron sygar shift lever was like $75 probably, kicker L7 was probably a couple hundred, kixker kx800 was probably like 600 (ive had the stereo stuff for years though). is lip spoiler, bmp skirts, list goes on and on.

I guess it does add up.

Most of the shit is tallyed up here, invoiced items don't have details as i was just punching numbers off of the invoices. Non-invoiced have details, as i have no invoice for those.

I've put 5-6k into my car so far, so no I haven't spent more than what I paid for it, but I'm close.

the thing is, does it matter? there are many things on my car that have improved significantly since I bought it, including things that were broken or worn. besides, whatever I spend on mods or repairs is a lot less than what I would a car payment and insurance on a new car..

I'd say I've put in right around 4x what I paid for the car initially.

you betcha these IX's aren't cheap, and I picked it up for $2000, have a reciepts for parts and repairs for at least that this year alone.

Rule of thumb though from Uli owns Hafkemeyer in KC: BMW only place for 30yrs. "If you put twice what you paid for the car into it in one year on repairs then it is time to sell and move on"

Hey who has spent the most in a month? I have spent over $3500 last month and about a 1000 this month. I am planning on spending 1000-1500 over the next 3-4 months. So in less than 6 months I am +5x.

I spent more on my longblock and gaskets, seals, accessories...than I did on the 318 itself.

I guess I got lucky. I've had my car for a couple years now and haven't spent a dime on it. Car was almost perfect from the start.

I paid 1 dollar for my car. Then another 1800 just getting it here. So ya...

If I look at it that way I spent a lot, if I look at it as in the transportation cost was my purchase price its not so bad, I have about 3-4g canadian in it including paint so its not so bad.

                                Sold it.
