Yeah I'll let you know how I like the B35 to. I'm currently waiting for my forged 10.25 CR pistons from Paul Burke to arrive to go with some other NA goodies I'v already aquiured for my 89 vert build. Got 3.25 and 3.46 diffs on hand to see which I like better. I think the 3.46 will probably spin my 225/50/15 Zeix 912's a little too easy though. We'll see:)

What cam are you running and are you still planning on running motronic? I'm running 10.5:1 using m90 flat tops with b35 crank with a 3.73 and it spins a lot with cheap tires. Not too much with stickies. FWIW, my car pulled on an e46 m3 on the highway with the 3.73 :)

I'll have to check my cam spec (also from Paul B). I'm running the 89 vert harness with the 179 ECU and the Miller MAF and WAR chip. Also a 533 flywheel. Should go pretty good when dialed in.

I had a pretty stout M30 E30 with a 3.25 LSD and i was wanting a 3.46 the whole time. Yes first gear is useless, but it just it seemed to want just a little more gear most of the time. I say start with the 3.46.

3.25 is already in the car so I'll start there but thanks for the input. BTW my vert will be on the lighter side with attention to all areas of unsprung and reciprocating weight as well.

Any cam recommendations? My M30 is from an E34, so it has the big intake valves. I don't think I want anything too radical, but I figure that I should do a cam swap/head refresh before I shove the thing in the car this winter.

A lot of older heads have bad cam journals and worn rockers...

There are plenty of decent cams I think but finding the "best" for your specific engine will require some discussion with M30 engine builders. I suggest talking with Paul Burke or others on mye28.com.

If you want the most performance gain out of your new cam on an M30 then a regrind is not an option. It compromises the already lackluster valvetrain geometry.

Go with a 288, i've built a few M30 engines with that cam and they all went awesome! it's lumpy but you'll love it :D

You were able to keep the stock rubber intake boot? Low PSI non-intercooled, I'm guessing?
