    should I buy it?

Ok, this is $2000 (of course, some negotiation will be involved  ) 1990 325i manual, 118k look clear title, brakes 80%, tires(pics), R12 needs freon (he said that it needs it every 2 mths or so.... :( ) Look at the pics, post your comments. Jordan, don't be mean ;)
bought in FL, then TX the carpet looks clean(pics), the engine looks clean(sorry, no pic), timing blt. 1500ml ago, don't know anything about valve adj.... should I check it out? (i'm in austin, car in houston)

P.S. I really like the car! my favorite color, but it's old... don't want to run into big pbls. in the future.. my dad and I are deciding on it, help us to decide. Thank you for your help guys!

I say buy it, it doesnt look to bad. It will definately need some work. If you arent mech. inclined then I wouldnt buy it, it needs a new exhaust, if the air con holds for a few months then its probably a loose fitting. Its a fixer upper and will def cost you some more money after the purchase.

$1500-$1750 at most ;) I looked up oem exhaust...$160. I just need a daily driver, what do you think can go wrong on that car, judging from the pics?

about the freon "leaking"... could it be leaking somewhere? what do you mean by loose fitting? I think that exhaust change doesn't require any special abilities, just have a bentley handy;)

It is an older car like you stated, there is no saying what could possibly need to be done to it by seeing some pics. I just feel that ithe car is not in the best of shape, so the p/o was probably not to strict on the maint. of the car. as far as the ac goes, if it holds the freon for a few months, I would guess that its not something really big, there are hoses, and i would guess one of the fittings is probably loose. Exhast is not hard at all to do, but there might be some other larger harder things to do, and maybe not.

The AC could be leaking from anywhere. Take it to a shop and have them check it out. There is a type of dye that you could use to find the leak.

Replacing the exhaust is not hard. Just unbolt the old. Bolt on the new. The hardest part is getting off the bolts to the exhaust manifolt that are rusted on.

Seems like its worth the money. The mileage isn't bad and it looks pretty clean, minus the dented rear valance. I wonder how the seats are under those seat covers.

I say don't buy it and leave it for me.

Let me know where at on 59 it's located and I might be able to swing by there and take a look at it or test drive it for you.

guys, this question just kinda poped up in my head, how long would the clutch serve me on this car do you think? how would you check it? 3rd gear trick will do? it's a '90 325i so it should have GR260... it will be my dd, no track or autocross... assuming the clutch was used by an average driver...

                              3rd gear trick??? whats that?

clutch depends on how the person drove the car....i'm guess around 200,000km = ~120,000miles or something like that...on my cars thats where the clutch really starts to show its wear.
