Thats because they're probably the most well rounded bikes on the market year in and year out :)
Super reliable, fast as hell, very nimble feeling (almost 600 like), and mods are plentiful and cheap.

You will miss the e30, no doubt about it. If you can live with the buyers remorse, then by all means, get the bike.

The one time I rode an 06 1000rr, I hit 150mph in the time I could hit 90 on my 600rr, they're stupid quick bikes with minor mods..
