Looks like it may have been spark plugs as well, not sure what the deal is but still waiting for some answers.... we swapped the MAF and the miller sensor is completely broken. Spark plugs look like shit, they were replaced about 2 months ago, so who knows.Comment

spark plugs could just be the result of an effed-up a/f ratio from the MAF being screwy. Are they black and oily, or white and bubbly?S52-Powered 1987

those split second MAF kits were always crap, though.
yep.. spark plugs will rarely go bad, what you're likely seeing is a symptom of the MAF kit taking a dump.
time to talk to whodwho about a PnP ms kit? :pComment

My Miller MAF sensor went bad.
And my fuel pressure regulator was shit.
HOPEFULLY miller/IE will replace my sensor for free, it's still under warranty. My intake was oiled and we thought that maybe the oil shot into the MAF and destroyed the sensor, but only have 3k miles on the rebuild? We are kinda confused still, but car should be running by the weekend if IE pulls through. Then if I have money left over from the parts 3.73 on Saturday and new tranny mounts..
Thanks for all the help guys, really REALLY appreciate it.Comment

That's what Mr. KAMOTORS said when I PM'd him yesterday, they are safe for the conversion... but my sensor just blew out... maybe just a faulty one? Not sure what the deal is but I really don't want to switch filters. I love this one...Comment

I've heard many horror stories about K&N filters gumming up MAF sensors, that's the primary reason I'm sticking with paper. That and it's a tested fact BMW's design is good.Comment

Well yeah that's what we thought, but also just a faulty sensor?
Not sure, doing the Santee Dyno day in Sept I think... I'll find out there, need to get an exhaust leak fixed first.
Yeah well hopefully this next one doesn't blow out on me...
Thx for the help guys, I'll take tons of videos and photos this upcoming weekend on my LSD swap and some other fun stuff.Comment

When my first miller MAF died on me they replaced it no problem, it just took a while thanks to being international. (If you have lots of oil in your intake boot, that might point to something else). Mine was clean as a whistle, it just quit. IDK if there's any additional circuitry in the MAF plug to adapt it to motronic, but if there is, that might be a weak spot.
oh, and rear ends that prevent slip > open diffs every time.
