I just did my heater core and valve by myself in about 1.5 hours from start till the time i bled the coolant and felt the warm air!!!!! (i havent had heat since november) i just felt like i needed to tell someone.

I dono. I bought my car with a broken heater core and haven't fixed it yet. I can get hot air out of the vents, I just need to crack the window and drive 60+ mph.

I could live without either. I have gone without heat in Colorado and without a/c in NM, CO, KS, MO, IL, KY,TN and GA. It is possible to live without it.
