I have to take OPs side on this one. Do you look sketchy or something? I drive about 10 over everywhere and if I see a cop I will slow down to 5 over even if he is following me and I never get bothered. -
Stop being a bitch you were speeding and got court. If you did not want to get court you would drive at 60.Leave a comment:

I used to work with a state trooper and he always told me the rule of thumb was that no self respecting cop will pull you over for doing 10 over the limit. Keep in mind the "self respecting" part.Leave a comment:

no. but will a cop usually waste their time? nope. They can pull you over for doing 61 in a 60 or even 58 in a 60 is "conditions aren't appropriate."
Here in NC 0-5mph over is $0 for each mph over, 6-10 is $5 for each mph over. Basically, if you get clocked for doing 5 or less over they probably won't touch you unless they have other shit they want to pin on you.
the cop was being a dick and you will probably get it thrown out if you talk to the DA or hire a lawyer.Leave a comment:

There's only as much room as the cop wants to give you, based on if hes had his donut yet and driving conditions.Leave a comment:

It's up to the cops judgement. NO, THERE IS NO LEEWAY! They can ticket you for going 1 over if they feel like it.Leave a comment:

65 in 60 = Speeding Ticket??
'am heading to work and a truck flings a rock into my windshield, as though that's not enough, on my way back home SB I-5, a cop gives me a ticket for doing 65 in a 60 zone. He pulls me over and say " you were going a little fast back there, you were going 5 over the speed limit. License and reg.. plz" I apologise and say that I didn't think I was over-speeding. "He say's my radar clocked you at 67". He leaves and then comes back, hands back my DL and a ticket, he says "I'll give you a ticket of 5 over the speed limit, drive safe" I was speechless, a $93 ticket. WTF.Tags: None
