Here in Va, if a cop actually tickets for 5mph over....it gets thrown out. We have more serious things to take care of in court, like meth, lift law violations, and custody battles between cousins.

My last and only ticket was 7 years ago. 20 over and a 300 ticket, 300 for 6 points and 90 in court fees.

I took a defensive driving course and paid my entire dues off the same day. It sucked HARD to hand over 700 to the town(gas and lost a day of work).

I learned my lesson and found that back roads are where you speed ;)

first ticket i got was for 80+ in a 45. oh to be 16 with a ls3.

that cost me 670 dollars 0 points got to take online course to remove the point. but my insurance fcked me like no tomorrow

I speed. All the time in fact. But will I complain about a 5mph over ticket? Nope. Cop caught me fair and square. It's my fault for not being vigilant when breaking the law. It's now up to me to take matter into MY hands, cross reference the officer when court comes, and most likely have the ticket thrown out unless the officer is on the ball that day.

This. I can't stand going slowly, when I see a straight open road lying before me, holding my speed at 65mph causes pain in my prostate. 90 is more like it.

But when I get caught (which has happened a few times already), I pay the fine and get on with my life. I think of it this way: I buy the right to go over the speed limit for the low cost of $200-300 a year.

I thought your insurance rate goes up because of the points. That's why traffic school ==> no points ==> no insurance rate change. Isn't this the case?

OP is the same kind of idiot who gets mad when city bus drivers don't let him on if he doesn't have quite enough change for the fare.

The speed limit was 60, you were caught going 65. You broke the law, be a man and admit you did wrong. Yes, I speed but when I'm caught the only one to be mad at is myself. I am an adult about it and don't cry because I have to be accountable for my actions.
