i used to have an e36, and i liked it for a daily driver. it was solid and reliable and cheap. I've never drove and e34 so i can't compare

I drive an e34 535i, 5 speed for my DD. It's great. I've had it 4 years, and it has been very reliable - built like a tank and fun to drive. Really no comparison in build quality to the e36. Great all around DD.

You want more room and general reliability? You dont want it to fall apart randomly? Get an e34.

neither, the E34 is just as old as an 30, and the E36 isnt really much larger. just get a high mileage early E46

Oh for sure. If that's the case I might need one for each day of the week.

e36, only because it comes in a 2 door.

Same. Yeah, the panels were starting to come apart, but it was otherwise a great car.

Pass them both up and get yourself an e38.
