    Turbo setup for my m30
    Coilovers
    Sticky tires
    Body reenforcement

Depending on what/where I buy that could be more or less 10k

    Chaos Theory?

I don't want to see O.P kill himself in a car with 500hp and 20 year old, worn out suspension and brakes.

You want to make sure your car is fully operational before going crazy with mods.

    Edit:

Also, to have an engine make 400hp and be reliable in an E30 is probably going to cost you fair bit more than 10k.

You don't want to put lots of money into looking nice and going fast, only to have your suspension break at 100mph.

Why is 400hp a requirement? That's stupidly overpowered for an E30, unless straight line is your thing. In which case an E30 isn't the car for you.

    Me:

    15x8's with semi slicks
    Slotted brakes and better pads
    BC Gold Coilovers
    Polyurethane bushes all round
Thickest off the shelf sway bars
    Strut braces
Bride/Recaro fixed backs, roll bar, harnesses, steering wheel, short shifter/ZHP
    2.7 stroker, high comp, 288cam, ITB's/Programmable ECU
    3.73 8 bolt LSD(rebuilt)

If you must have over 400 to the wheels, then M30 turbo or LSx. But that is not the route I would go.

Early body, black or white, blue int, 2 door, euro bumpers, 86-87 Alpina front spoiler, BBS or Alpina or Zender rear spoiler, Short wind splits, fender mounted mirrors, some kind of old school wheel (no stretch or poke...), lowered, with 383TPI or 383 LT1/LT4 with 5 or 6 speed, 4.10lsd rear. I'm sure i may of gone over budget LOL.
