    The WORST job on E30

    Subframe ? No, that's cakewalk.

    Headliner? Not that bad.

It's gotta be the windshield wiper mechanism replacement. Not the electric motor, but the whole assembly. OMFG what a PITA.

Mine actually broke on the driver side, how I have no idea. It worked fine until one morning on the way to work in heavy rain it decided to break and resulted in the left/right side no longer working in sync with each other.

Bentley says to remove the dash/ac/heater box... terrible!

No kidding. It was a giant freaking pain in the ass pulling it from a shell with no engine that was getting hauled away. I smashed the heater box on that car. :p. Was kind of satisfying.

Yup, that is probably the worst job. Did my drivers side a couple years ago.

Replacing the sunroof cables can be a PITA too.

Last time I wrenched on an E30 was at work... Doing a recall....

Yep, 20 years later... Recall on a 325ic.

Heater bypass valve on a M20, pretty cake but everything broke.

It makes it a lot easier to pull the dash and heater box.

But, It's the biggest PITA By far on the entire car.

I've removed/reinstalled e30 dash probably 5 times and can do it with my eyes closed but it's a STUPID design where you have to remove the dash TO remove the heaterbox TO remove/replace the windshield wiper assembly.

Yeah def the most poorly design part of the whole car. On my friends car the driver side broke and we used a screw and cloth hangers to keep it attached. Ghetto but it work for the winter.
