                  This is how it happened. My car was low, and the water was deeper than expected. But anyway, i heard back from the insurance company, and all the damage is being paid for. Sweet.

                        let me get this straight...

                        you, a fireman, used to using water to douse things all the time.... looks at a small lake and says... "I CAN DRIVE THROUGH THAT WITH MY E30!" and proceeds to drive into the lake? is that correct?

                        the airbox on an e30 is about 2 feet off the ground. the water was deeper than expected? must have been a LOT deeper than expected.
                        AWD > RWD

                          If he was responding to a call, he was probably in a hurry and not paying attention as much to the puddles. Leave him alone he's doing civilians a service.
