I have been collecting powder coating equipment for a while now on the super cheap. For those of you that have done this, yes I know my gun sucks but for starting out it is the best option. So anyway, today I finally got to give it a shot and I am very pleased with the results I got from my budget set up.
I got an oven off CL for $30. and a powder gun off Amazon for $40. Then I ordered $70 worth of powder because there are so many cool colors.
The first thing I coated were some pieces for my brother-in-law. He turns pens on a lathe. Makes them out of all kinds of wood and other things. Lately he has been making them out of AK-47 shells. So today we coated a few for his up coming show. Here are the results

While I was spraying those I decided to spray a couple of my wrenches to use as samples and also to use as a measure of durability since my wrenches will get beat up a lot.

Here are some shots of the set up.
This is my 5 minute spray booth. Yes that is an e30 comfort seat/powder coating comfort seat.

This is the oven we got. Bought it without testing it but it worked great

Here are just some shots of the process

P.S. sorry the pictures were all taken with a phone. The first one was taken with an old flip phone, the rest with my thunderbolt. I think they came out ok though
