In the US the sport package included as standard:
Sport appearance package (With basketweaves, lip, spoiler)
Sport suspension with slightly stiffer springs, Slightly stiffer Boge or Bilsteins (Both came from factory)
Sport seats.
Mtech I Sport steering wheel.
Full electrics package (Could be optioned off individually)
LSD (3.73 for manual, 4.10 for auto)
OPTIONS (Which were still options for all) were the OBC, premium sound, 15" basketweaves, leather, and Mtech II wheel (Amongst all of the other many, many options available for all)

I bought my 325is in 1988 and still own it. Came with 373lsd, leather seats, 13obc, sport suspension, BBS wheels, premium stereo, map mirror, tinted windows, power sun roof, power door locks, rear defrost window, trunk lip, power mirrors, electric antenna, double trunk lights, etc. Paid $32,000.00 This car has 535k miles on original motor, starter, and 5 speed manual tranny with original clutch and rear wheel bearings. I'm on my third set of brake pads.

I thought it depended on what color the car was.... alpine's never had a clear to my knowledge. And I thought IS just meant springs, spoiler, basketweaves, and sports seats, everything else was an option.Originally posted by NitroRustlerDriver View PostLate models came with clear coat. not completely true shwartz has clear and a few other colors.

all my 318is were single stage paint except for my shwartz car. so no not all late models have clear. brilliantrot doesnt have it zinno doesnt have it and alpine doesnt have it.
BUT when ppl respray they usually clear them so the paint doesnt fade as fast.sigpic

LSD has never been standard except on M vehicles. Most 325iS did come with LSD though as most were optioned that way. Dealers ordering cars to sell are going to get an LSD in the most expensive version of the car. It was 250-400 dollars depending on the model.
Also I had an 88 and now an 87 325iS and neither has the premium audio.

Let me set the story straight on the "clear coat" question: ONLY metallics had a clear coat, period. All iS cars also came with an LSD, Premium Sound and a 13 button OBC, except 1991. Only in 1991 were these NOT standard on the iS.
Back to the clear coat: lots of dealers were spraying a clear coat over the stock paint, but that was the dealers doing, NOT BMW.
