so im having a real problem. seems like im not getting enough power to the front. I will have the radio on and i turn on the wipers. The radio shuts off and wipers go slow. its like that for everything up front. its only putting power to one thing at a time.

    What's going on?

      so wait, what?
is your battery charged? be more specific. Think about how a normal car acts. Think about how your car acts, study the English language. Explain how your car is acting different from a normal car

If im listening to the radio and I turn on my lights. The radio will shut off, when normally both should be on at the same time.

Ive had it for like 4 mounts and this has never happened.

the radiator is out, I dont know if that would do anything

and I put an mtech1 steering wheel on it.

but it happens to other stuff besides the radio.

Although not electrical, the radiator is a really important component of a car. You should probably try putting it back in.

was the MT1 steering wheel installed properly? trace wires from it and the head unit, look for bare wires. don't run your car without your radiator, when's the last time you looked under the hood? could've caught on fire under there or something, lol.

We can't fix it for you from afar. It is clear you have a mess in the wiring. The only solution is to get in there (I'd start in the dash) and physically look at the wires. It should be obvious which wires have been molested from original. If they are still wrapped/bundled in cloth tape, they have not been messed with. Don't mess with them now. You will need to repair or replace each wire that has been altered from original.

You'll need to remove the radio, cluster, and light switch at a minimum.

So if a wire was tapped for installation of any aftermarket equipment, you want to carefully remove the tap and seal the wire's insulation. If the wire has been cut for any reason, you need to (at minimum) solder the two ends and shrink wrap the junction. Better would be to replace that whole wire, from origin to destination. If you don't match the replacement wire colors with the original, it will no doubt cause innumerable problems down the line.

Take one circuit at a time. Safety first, so lighting circuits.

Radio LAST. Use original radio power, lighting, and speaker wiring even for aftermarket head unit installation. I am not a pro at installing radios but I am not aware of any aftermarket radio that requires a connection that BMW didn't provide for in the stock harness.

Don't cut wires. Don't tap into wires. Especially if you don't know what you are doing (not sayin' you did anything wrong, but somebody did!). If you are responsible for the mess, you are not capable of repairing it. Take it to a professional.

                            Wait...

Have you started the car? Does it still do this while the car is running?
