    Update - project save my customer's 318i

Ok, as most of you read, I sold a guy a car and the engine blew two hours away. Paid for his flight home and am putting another engine in for free - he pays for parts.

I've made arrangements with him to deliver the car. He's coming up with the rest of the NASCAR fleet for the races on the 18th. He wants to drive the car home, which leaves me just over a week to get this done.

I know I can do it, but I need help. Any help. An hour, a few, whatever you can spare.

As of right now, the car is in Sturbridge. My partner is still not calling me back, so I've got no truck and trailer. I can rent a trailer, but have nothing to tow it with. So I need some way - any way - to get the car back to Amesbury. If someone has a truck, I can rent the trailer, pay you for time and gas, whatever it takes. If you've got both, even better.

I also need hands aboard to help me remove the old engine and put the new one in. I can either do it in one shot, if there are enough hands willing to devote the time all at once, or over a few nights/days - either way, I have to get it done for Sunday, the 18th.

    Here is my work schedule:
    Thurs, 8th - 3p-11p
    Friday, 9th - 3p-11p
    Saturday, 10th - 3p-11p
    Sunday, 11th - OFF
    Monday, 12th - 7a-3p
    Tuesday, 13th - OFF
    Wednesday, 14th - 7a-3p
    Thursday, 15th - 3p-11p
    Friday, 16th - 3p-11p

I'd love to get the car and get some work done Sunday, and finish it Monday afternoon into Monday night - that'll leave me a nice buffer if something goes wrong or takes longer than expected. But, if you're available during any time other than above, give me a shout. I could really use the help. Please email me at scott.poirier@comcast.net - my PM box is almost full.

Thanks to anyone that can give me a hand, and I'll make it up to you somehow.

I second that, it's a bit of a drive up there from Houston.... always wanted to see the NE US though.

Thanks guys - we'll see. Time left is reasonable, but it's all gotta happen fast. I just want to make sure it gets done right.

Do you ever do things on your own? :)

                Aw TJ, you're cute ;)

Trust me - I've logged more hours at that friggin garage, overnight into the morning, than I can count. But I know jack shit about M42's, and swapping a motor isn't really a 1 person job. Besides, it's a lot easier, and a lot more fun to get some guys together and wrench a little.

If no one is free, I won't have a choice. I'll be sure to let you guys know how much fun a one man engine swap is ;)

i hear you about having company. even if it's just a friend to pass wrenches and consume the beer, it makes it more fun
