Benefits of keeping vert top down?

So I have a '91 e30 vert and a garage space to keep it in, and lots of people keep the top down all the time...why? All I can see is that the rear window would get folded and creased, and that bugs would get into your car. Are there any benefits to this that i'm missing (maybe being too lazy to put it up and take it down when you drive it?)? My top was replaced in 2003 and my window isn't perfect but it's pretty damn good, and from the looks of it the top was mainly up.
The first car I ever rode in was an e30

Because it's nice to roll out of your garage with the top down already. Plus it's a good stereo when you're working on a buddy's e30. ;)

I don't have bugs in my garage, so that's not really an issue for me. But when the winter comes, top's staying up. Damn Californians.

My rear back has the usual split, but it doesn't stop me from enjoying the sun. I'd probably do the same if my seats were bad though.

Benefits? Let's see...you don't have to put it down when you drive and you can jump in and out of your car without opening the doors lol. Leaving it down all the time will not only crease the window but also scratch and possibly crack the window as the temperature changes when you do put the top up and of course theft, dust/dirt, sunfade, etc.

I always put mine up when I parked it for the night, in the garage.

It usually stayed up on the way to work then went down at lunch, as I'm in no way, shape, or form a morning person.

But not matter how drunk I was, I always insisted the DD help me put the top up in my garage.

If its going to be cold ~40F always up before the nite sets in.

Since it is a cabrio, my top is always down. When im at work or sitting on my driveway for long hours, I put my car cover on. I have a power top that works and I know my days are numbered till it fails so I limit the use of opening and closing.

So for guys who leave it down all the time, how's your window doing? I had it down in the garage for like the past week (working on my interior right now) and I thought about the window and put it back up. No problems with bugs yet but it seems like california is just crawling with spiders.

HAHAHA i love those...i definitely drive with the top down, I'm just unsure about keeping it down all the time. If it's all laziness then ill probably keep it up for my window's sake.

My window wasn't in the greatest shape when I got the car. And the top's six years old and showing that nobody ever took car of it. Thank jebus it doesn't leak.

Once it gets to the low 60's-high 50's my top won't be coming down till mid-March or so. (We've been getting long, harsh winters in NM lately)
