Best way to buy a car that is very very far away?

Just curious as to what you guys were to do if you wanted to purchase a car and have it shipped to you. What means would you use to transfer the money? Any body actually done this?

And don't go telling me to just fly across the country to go get it, I'm just trying to weigh options here.

That must be one interesting car then, since you want to purchase it outside of the rust free part of the country.

Other than flying there and handing him cash...Through a bank would probably be the second best way.
            maybe PayPal

Have the transport go to pickup the car, and when you have the driver physically see the car with title via phone, then deposit money or in bank transfer to seller's account

uShip makes shipping motorcycles, boats, and other large items fast and affordable by connecting you to our network of carriers who compete for your shipment.

make an account, post your situation, shippers reverse bid on your job. you choose the shipper when the price is where you like. uship escrows the money until the transaction is complete.

                  you are welcome.

another choice that i have had success with is yesterdaystractors.com there is a section where you can post a haul or look for a trucker traveling between various destinations across the country. you can find extremely good deals here if you are really patient. i had an ix shipped from northern ohio for 375.00 a few years ago in an enclosed trailer.

Bank wire the money from your bank to his, and then have a reputable shipping company go get it and deliver it to you. Once you have sent the money Via Wire have them Overnight Fedex you your title

I bought my turbo car back from a seller in PA. I sent him a cashier's check certified mail and he sent back the extra key and signed title certified mail. I then set up shipping and had it shipped home on a car carrier!

uship is cool but they have to bid more to cover the fees. The guy I used was from uship but I set up the deal privately. I'll leave his info for you...

man, i sure hope you meant this as a joke. at least pay for the car with paypal or some way to get your money back if the seller is dishonest. if you are stupid enough to bank wire money, you have absolutely no way to get it back other than to legally sue. just pay attention to my previous post.

yes, there are shipping fees to incur with uship. however, it is a great way to advertise your needs. besides, you can find a hungry shipper going your way with an open space on his hauler who is willing to ship your car for cheaps. if you make a deal outside uship, you lose any guarantees that they offer.

if you make a bubba deal with a trucker, do NOT give them any money up front. pay them with cash (or a check if they will accept it) when the car arrives in good condition at your doorstep. just ask me now i know this shit.

i have driven 2 e30's across the country and i have had 2 of them and a tractor shipped from various corners of the u.s. so, i have made bubba deals with retarded truckers. sometimes with no problems, sometimes not. use uship and pay for the safety that it provides. tis worth it. sometimes being a cheap ass can bite you in the ass.

i would hire a homeless man to drive across the country with your cash and bring the car back with him.
