I'm Blake. I have a beard and tattoos. I enjoy fine automobiles, sketchy motorcycles, expensive bourbon, morally questionable women, and of course long walks on the beach. I've been building cars for a few years and have owned at least one car from almost every imported auto manufacturer. Does that make me better than you? Probably.
Anywho, my roots are in both the vw scene and the datsun scene. I'm a mehcanic at a nissan/datsun specialty shop, we mainly work on those turd ass bastard z32 300zx's...but we also work on anything that people pay us for. I grew up in the car scene, and was always the guy fixing everyone else's car...so i decide working on cars for free could eat a bag of dicks. I work on cars all day, but every so often i get the motivation to build stuff in my free time. It's become quite the sick addiction. My first heavily modified Car was a mkIV gti, which i wasted insane amounts of money on before inevitably learning fwd was about as productive as sticking your junk in a light socket...so i got rid of it and moved on to greener (and older) pastures.
Said mkIV:

After the vw i had a few various nissans (s13, a few pickups) and then bought my first datsun z. It was a mint '73 240z, white with crimson interior. After getting knee deep in a megasquirted L28ET setup, i decided the chasis was just too nice to do what i wanted to do with it, so i parted out the swap and sold off the car.
The white Z, ignore the monster exhaust tip, it was compliments of the p/o:

After i got rid of that car i bought and flipped another 280z, bought a 4x4 pathfinder, and started my last z project. Since the shop i work at specializes in z's, and everyone at work has one of the cleaner/faster examples of each chasis, i decided i had to go a different route from the pack. One guy has a mid 9-second, orange, rb powered 280z that has been posted on almost every car forum with a video section, another has a really clean z31, and one of our close friends is in the middle of a potential 8-second 2jz powered 280z build. I decided to go the rb25 route with my '71 240z project because we had a spare swap on hand, but i decided mine would be the lowest meanest z around these parts. After spending almost every penny and sexual favor i could muster up, what i had was a car perpetually $1500 away from being the most gangster thing around. I ran all mckinney mounts, mckinney oilpan, etc and had NOTHING but problems from jump street. Everything needed to be modified to fit correctly, and honestly after throwing large hunks of money at the car and never gaining ground, i lost interest in yet another project. I finished the suspension/chasis refresh/brakes and rolled the car off to the side.
The money pit:
In this pic i still had around 2" left to go down on the coils. It was stupid low.

And how it sat the day i traded it for my e30.

And now we get to the dirty german, my '85 325e. After losing interest on the orange z, i started kicking around the idea of trading my car. A good friend of mine who has always had top notch taste in everything he builds had this e30 and showed some interest in my z, so i set up a day and checked out each other's cars. I never finished the swap in the z, so he got everything as a rolling chasis plus parts, and his e30 was immacuate. He also happened to have recently built one of my favorite honda cb550 cafe racers of all time, so as we got to negotiating terms of the trade, i squeezed the bike out of him too. He ended up walking away with the 240z, the full rb25 swap, and everything needed to put the car together....and i walked away with the '85 325e, the '78 cb550, a complete m20b25 swap with trans, some jom coilovers, and a set of ghetto filled/redrilled e38 style 5's. Overall i'm pretty pleased with the turn-out. I don't have pics of the e30 because it's stock and you all know what they look like. I'll be updating in the member's rides as the coils and wheels and such go on, and will likely have the m20b25 up for sale soon too. I'll also post up more about the cb550 in the cafe racer thread as well.
Here's a few pics of the death machine:

Oh, i also live in Alabama...so of course i have one of these....

Well, since i don't have any notable pictures of any of my other previous cars (not many very notable to begin with) i guess that's pretty much my intro thread. I hope you enjoyed it. Or not, whatever.
*CLIFF NOTES*
A ) I'm new here, but not new to building cool shit, bro.
