ANOTHER great weekend at the glen PICS (no 56k)

Vintage weekend, a great time as always. Saw a ton of cool cars, good races, etc. Didn't watch as much racing this year as I have in the past as we left early Sunday to go to a little party.

they took the various classes through the original track. on the front straight (where all the people are) they go kinda slow, but the rest of the track the pace cars let them haul ass (my dad and I snuck in one year lol)

back up at the current track, in the Bimmer this time. some pics from on the track

This was pretty fucking cool. 1969 (yes, they did come in 69!) 240z, vin # 00006. 1st z in north america, 1st z to race in north america, 1st 240z to win a race in north america, multi time scca champ. restored by bob sharp's company, I believe

    with daN's thumb up of approval;

daN's ugly ass. oh wait, what's that behind him?

shelby daytona replicar, supposed to be VERY accurate. currently selling for $65k. I guess they got an original (i believe there were only 7 made?) and made all the molds and reproduced it. Carrol SHleby's sold a few years ago for 6.5 mil, and another one in rough ass shape sold for 4 mil about 3 years ago

I just thought the wood block was funny

This was a fucking CHERRY. coolest car. its there every year, too. 1967 Ferrari 275 gtb/4. 1 of 300 produced. only 21k miles! 200 cubic inch V12! putting out 300 horsepower and 231 lb/ft of torque. only 2420 lbs! steel body, aluminum doors, bonnet, boot. tops out at 159 mph, 0-60 in 6.2 sec!
first quadcam ferrari roadcar, first independent rear suspension, transaxle.

blurry pic, snapped quick. old school lotus elan

clean m10 bmw 2002, reubild w/10:1 comp ratio, dual webbers, 292 cam

Old school bugatti racecar. there were quite a few original racecars from this generation, this was just in the show though. refer to pic one for the racecars.

the volvo had a full cage, msd ignitinon, webers, etc

    from the ride home...

    another blast at the glen.

I was reading about this car in an old edition of The Robb Report yesterday. It is made in Britan and it has 365hp and it wieghs about 2100lbs. I think it said like 280 or so torque. The base price was estimated at $71,000.

Man, they're lucky I wasn't there in person. I would have defiled that car in multiple obscene ways.

That is my ultimate dream vehicle, bar none. There really isn't much else there that "does it" for me. But that is the car.

                    Man.
