I found it interesting that on the M setting, they designed the stereo to "play" the engine sound louder in the cockpit for an "enhanced accoustical experience". Apparently the soundproofing is so good, they have to pump in artificial engine sound through the stereo. Ain't that some crazy shit?

It's a luxury sedan. For that money there are so many much more performance oriented alternatives that have loud engines, much lighter construction, and more direct feel..

Well if that is the case go buy a 7 series. It is a Motorsports division, what is the point in having a M5 if it is just a fast luxury sedan.

As they say, just because you can do it dose not mean you should.

If I have enough skrill for an F10 M5 you can bet your a$$ I would have enough money for a loud ass exhaust system. That way I can hear the engine and the blasting stereo of the ultimate saloon.

The V10 didn't have that problem but it does sound a little thin with the stock exhaust. Pretty much all of us on M5board have some kind of aftermarket exhaust. I'm running the Rogue Engineering Diablo v2:



I believe US deliveries of the F10 M5 start in August 2012. I do love the screaming V10 but I'm looking forward to experiencing the turbo V8's fat torque. I'm sure with a nice aftermarket exhaust it'll sound great. Good chance someone will get in and code it to shut off the audio enhancement of the engine to keep it real.
