Claybar, polish, wax and most likely next month raise her up and throw the steels on. Ready for winter time mountain duties

Was in florida last winter. Now back in Indiana. I have a feeling its going to take its toll on the e30 this winter so im setting money aside for the body shop in April/May

I may just purchase some of that gummy shit...looks interesting. does it smell like candy? cause that'd be cool.

I never drove my e30 in winter since I got it and I prefer to keep it that way. My car sits in the garage most of the time and gets fgas about once a month. The weather here is REALLY humid so I'm not sure if that gummy stuff is even necessary for me.

When we go skiing and snowboarding i just rent some late model POS for 20 bucks a day. cheaper than dealing with "winterizing" the e30, or even getting winter wheels and tires, given I only rent 2-3 times each winter just for trips to the mountains. Not to mention the better fuel economy and the reliability of a newer car.
If it's got tits or tires, it's gonna cost ya!

Do *not* use gummi pfledge. There's a reason why BMW doesn't sell it any more. Do not use any silicone based products on rubber.

                      My winterization goes like this:

Clean, then drive summer daily to guys barn.

                      Swap for ix.

                      Start e30 ix, drive home.

Change fluids (I.e. Engine oil, etc), wash/wax, winters with steelies are already mounted.

Wait. Wait. Enjoy the goodness that is ix in the snow.

Because the silicones in the GP effectively accelerate the removal of the elastic compounds from rubber. So it will look better for a short while, but age more rapidly. Google around, it's been abundantly discussed since the BMW digest days...
