Jay Leno and his 66 Corvair Corsa Turbo

I just came across this and thought i'd share it here. Probably alot of the younger guys on here don't even know what one is. I love my Corvair. It isn't a Corsa, but is Corsa powered ;) and plus some :giggle:. This is probably the only car i have ever kept this long and i've had a list of Muscle cars in my past too. But i cant ever bring myself to selling it.

I have always wanted a Corvair and nearly bought a 66 for my 1st car but it needed too much work

My dad has had more Corvairs that I can remember to name, but the notables were a '65 and a '66 Corsa 140 and a '66 Corsa 180. From the time I was born until I was about 17, he spent restoring the '66 140. Added all kinds of performance items (big cam, roller rockers, Holley 390cfm 4 barrel, Carrera shocks, electronic ignition, headers/exhaust... the list goes on, it would pull to 7k RPM!). That was such a neat car and he sold it just as he was finishing the restoration after all those years, he never really got to enjoy the benefit of his labor/time. All that was unfinished were the wheels, it was still on the original Corsa hubcabs.

Turns out he made a deal with my mom that if he bought his '94 Porsche 968, he would sell the Corvair.

Believe Jason sent me in this direction.

corvair parts, worlds largest corvair parts supplier for 1960 thru 1969 monza, spyder, corsa model cars and more. Riviera upholstery.

After I sent him a few Corvair C list ads, There are quite a few of them running around in the Pioneer Valley here in New England.

They are a different kind of car. But simple to work on! i always have a bunch of people coming up to me telling me stories about a Corvair in their life. When i had mine all stock looking, i always was getting thumbs up from grandparents lol.

Like Leno said, maybe we should thank him! The cars did have a production run for 10 years, so they wasnt really killed of early.
