Never knew they were 2500lbs... that's light as hell! 180hp 2500lbs is actually not too slow by today's standards either.
    paint sucks

Haha! One of the painters at work was just bitching today about what a pita it is to remove side mirrors from Corvair doors.

He was talking about the mirror remote and how it wouldn't pull through the door with the wing window assy. in place.

I have always loved Corvairs. My first car was a 1962 lakewood wagon. My dad had a total of 14 corvairs over the last 20 years. right now he has my old lakewood wagon and a 62 greenbrier. I've been looking for another one for the last couple years, just cant find the right one. I could never stand the disrespect the "other" Chevy guys gave the Corvair. I'd take a Yenko Stinger over a Camaro any day, bt thats just me...

I wanted this Corvair as my first car so bad. An old timer with a farm back in rural PA had well over a hundred cars, nothing newer than 70s. Wasn't a junkyard. These were complete, albeit in need of work. I should go visit him now that I have more disposable income....

Blk on Blk Corvair. Trans selector on the dash. No center console.. it was open which I thought was really cool. Dont remember 2 or 4 door.

                  Cool cars.

                    Jason,
I had a few Corvairs (15) back in the day and I loved them. One of my favorites was a 1966 4 door hardtop,4-speed, 140 engine with air conditioning. What a cool car (no pun intended). I had almost one of each model except for a Rampside. Both my girls learned to drive in a 1960 2 door. They both said that no one ever confused them with anyone else. Although my youngest said the AM radio would only pickup "Oldies" stations. I move up from '60s Corvairs to 80's (E30) BMWs. Thanks for bringing back some good memories.

First motor I ever tore apart was a 110hp out of a 66. I was helping a friend and was 15 or 16. Such awesome cars I have always wanted to buy one they just keep evading me.

I know a guy who has a original pickup and he is the original owner.
