I still have yet to discover why these wheels are alluring, at all. And commanding such a high price.
But that's a good thing for you with finding them. Sell em.

Because they are period correct wheels that can be built to almost any width and offset. They also have many options for lips , paint schemes and caps.

Ok so I did a little cleaning, disassembling yesterday.

I did a quick kitchen sink cleaning on two of the wheels. Yeap my wife LOVED that!

I got one disassembled and proceeded to clean the frosty clear coat off the rim and followed that with a quick initial polishing.

        A quick mock up

Next the centers and bolts are off for paint. Then some time in the semi-near future I will order the 2.5" lips for two of the wheels.
Oh and if anyone happens to have a RS001 in any condition that they want to sell let me know.

those look really good. i usually pay about 50.00 each for an aluminum wheel at that place. too bad there is no fourth. probably some cheap ass that couldn't afford 4 and bought only 1 so that hopefully a guy like you wouldn't come along and get the rest. good find though.

Nice score... What did you use to remove the clear. My skin still hasnt recovered from the last set I restored. I have a set of 16' rs's waiting. I also have 15 inch stock lips should you need them

No I am pretty sure that the front right wheel suffered the same fate as the shattered oil pan and bent lower control arm. The spare bottlecap was on in its place. And I was the first person to pick this car, it was still in the paperwork stage.

              Blunt,
I am looking for a center and 15" drum. I have 3 nice 1" lips already and I plan on running 2.5" lips in the rear.
As far as the clear, I used #00 and #0000 steel wool.

How long did that take you?? I tried everything including Nalpalm to get the clear off my M2 wheels . I have forgotten how badly it sucked because Ill likely do it again with these 16's if I dont sell them

are you going to paint them? and what color combos? classic all silver?

also, the 16" RSs use the same center, but bigger lips and barrels. if you ever want to go 16x8.

                        Only if they're 30 hole (rs003) which aren't 16x8.

The normal 34 hole RS's will not work.

What I did was fill the kitchen sink half way with very soapy dish water and kept the steel wool soaked. It took about an hour to get from the frosty lip pictured to the pre-polished lip in the next pic. And believe it or not the polish helped but when the 0000 steel wool was finished the lip was very shiny! I didnt want to use sandpaper on the lip due to some bad experiences in the past. Normally it takes more than twice as long to polish it out after you have sanded it, no matter how fine of a grit used. That being said, I will have to use sand paper a little to smooth out a few imperfections in the lip. But I am not looking forward to it.

^ for removing rs clear coat? Warm the lip up, apply regular old aircraft and it wipes off with a bitch rag pretty easy

OH and I went back today and picked up a E30 fitment Foha Heckspoiler. It is a three piece spoiler that wraps down the sides and forward slightly.

The car is not mine but that is the spoiler

I also picked up some older Suspension Technics lowering springs. They are Gold but with no numbers anywhere. The car they were on had a nice drop.
