Perhaps a longer project than expected.

    87 325e 188,000 miles..
    Needs-
    Wheel bearings
    Flex disks
    Possible steering rack
    Brakes
    Springs
    Shocks
    Front control arm
    Possible water pump
    Rear valance
    Cosmetic touch ups(hood, dings scratches)
    Signal lights all around
    ..thats just the obvious stuff.
Now should I even attempt this project or should I sell it and find a better platform?
    Opinions and or advice?
Please no trolling/flaming..do it somewhere else
This would be my first project.

Depends on how much you paid for or they're asking for it.
And how nice the body is.

Body and interior is about an 8/10..the only bad thing about the body is the hood..a little oxidation. And then the drivers seat is a little torn

Didnt the ex owner of that car tell you that it has rust issues. Also the price is way high for that car with all the work needing to be done.

it's a lot easier to replace an engine than a rear quarter panel with rust.

Sorry but, next time you should prolly look over the car you are buying a little better. Rust on places like doors, trunk decks or the hood is easy to deal with. The rear quarter panel obviously doesn't come off like those parts. One of the most important things with these cars is for the main body to be rust free. The rest of the parts can be added fairly cheap. I am not trying to be an asshole, I'm just giving my opinion.

eh most e30s need that anyways. if it's got significant rust tho, look elsewhere

Wheel bearings alone are a pretty significant expense if you don't do them yourself. I'd say it certainly has potential, and if you can swing another few grand (3-5k like mentioned above seems about right) for all that is listed, then I'd keep her.

If you buy cars, find problems, and sell them again you will lose money at some point. You should've inspected it more before you bought it, and if you give it up now, you'll only end up losing.
You'll never find a perfect E30 cheap. Not that this was cheap, but still. Just accept that you might not have bought the best car for the amount of money, and start working on it. Everybody knows that money you put in to an E30 is money you probably wont see again anyway.

I found that out with my last e30.and I understand that I did pay way too much for it.. And I took a shot in the dark with it and completely missed..but I'm trying to stay positive and keeping my head up with how it will turn out after all of this
