    Pricing Cars

    Just curious-
I know that KBB tends to low ball E30's but I also feel the NADA Retail is too high. When used car shopping, do you work off KBB (private party) or NADA? Or a mixture of both?
    Just looking for opinions.
    Thanks

You can use them both as a guide but I don't bother. I see what the market value is like for that particular area. You can find a nice 325iS that the owner wants 5K for but if all the others are $3K and require little work to be perfect then which is the better value to you? My point is, what really matters is what is a good value to you. If you can fix em cheap then you wouldn't mind buying the 3K car assuming it has potential to be mint (not frame damage, rust).
