So yesterday i got home and locked my driver door as usual (locking all other doors) but instead of just normal locking them it went to deadlock. No big deal you might say, but now the driver door lock is not working... It's turning in butter. So I can't unlock from anywhere else since its in deadlock and can't unlock from driver door cause its fucked. How do i break into my car?

Deadlock big problem Help!

what do you mean?
PS:
Driver lock:
-turns in any which way with no friction just spring back feeling.
-makes a slight locking noise when turned to lock position
-makes no action or noise when turning to unock
Passenger lock:
-Can't turn to unlock or lock but moves a mm each way (hens me thinking it's in deadlock
-the mm it does move toward unlock position moves the lock pin up a bit.
Trunk lock
-never worked to unlock itself or any other, just feels like its in deadlock full time. Only works to push open trunk.
I think the problem is the driver door lock only, not the central locking, is it possible to just change the driver door lock and not the others? will the key be the same?..
Still need to get the door open though ....
Any help is appreciated thanks!Last edited by e30BMart; 11-05-2011, 11:25 AM.

No paddle, either.
You are going to have to take your doorpanel off with the door closed, get inside the door (again, with the door closed) and physically unlock it...because even if you had the window open you still can't unlock it.
What car is this on? Most coupes and sedans don't have deadbolt, it is a thing for the 'verts, primarily. Some did, but it was not as common.
Either way, if I had to get in my 100% locked up car, I would pull the windshield. Since you will not be pushing from the inside, you may have to cut the seal, but a windshield seal replacement is not that much money...but you will also likely break your windshield getting it out (since you cannot push from the inside) but seems like most E30s have a pitted to hell windshield anyway.
For your sake, I really do hope you are wrong about the high security lockout.
Sorry, man, that really sucks.

-remove push in plastic trim around windshield, lube up the gasket and start pulling on it with suction cup until it clears the gasket, slowly work your away around
-get in car, open window
-remove drivers side seat
-remove door panel
-unlock car
unless there some bypass I'm not aware of..Last edited by Julien; 11-05-2011, 11:47 AM.

I don't know how he did it but my dad unlocked the driver door while I was posting on here and now I can lock/unlock from the pass side so deadlock either was not activated or my dad deactivated it somehow. But if it wasn't why did the pass side lock act like it was jammed by deadlock.. Weird stuff. Dad saves the day, again. :P. Thank you guys for your ideas and help, I appreciate it!
