Well, last time we raced down the freeway i had that hacked eta 1 7/8" exhaust on there, which choked the motor down on the top end. After that she got some new lungs installed and that helped out alot, and the motor is broken in now.
But its alright man, when you get that VaNoS fixed (and valve) it will haul ass. I guess you'll have to ask Devon for a rematch, I have moved onto better things :P91 m3Comment

^ Agreed.
I'll try to remember a camera when I pick up whitey, just in case if you can't wait a week to see Mizz Magestic, Jeremy.Comment

Originally posted by permitWell, my vanos is dead...like, the whole thing, not just that solenoid switch thing that costs ass loads of money. That, on top of a bent valve(s)=my car being slow as shit.
I raced 325Projectz on the freeway the other nite (he has a stock vanos M50), and he was neck and neck at every speed, and even baaaaaaarely pulling ahead at some points. With my old M50, I was outrunning him.
This blows, and now I have to wait until December to find the time to swap the head and pray that the junkyard gives me one that actually functions (unless someone is selling a freshly machined, vanos-working head for cheap, Bryson?).
Yeah, this is me bitching.
A Vanos solenoid is less than 100.00 wholesale.
A whole Vanos unit is ~300.00 or so.
Get a shop with the Vanos timing tool to install it for 100-200 or so dollars.Comment

Sounds so easy except for the bent valve part.Originally posted by bmw_e30Originally posted by permitWell, my vanos is dead...like, the whole thing, not just that solenoid switch thing that costs ass loads of money. That, on top of a bent valve(s)=my car being slow as shit.
