Shitty tires are the best way to go. Go to your local junkyard and find some cheap pair of 4x100 alloys (most steelies do not have the proper centerbore for e30s) and get some used tires. Then have fun. The m20 has more than enough power to hold a drift.... and it's more than enough to learn on. I've been sliding on Ireland Engineering Stage 3 springs with Bilstein sport shocks. The whole setup cost me $650 shipped.

If you have shitty tires in the front, then invest in a pair of good tires for the front. I've been using Kuhmo 711s and lately they just arent keeping up to par of what I'm expecting to do... but for someone starting, I would suggest 711s or anything better.

So... good front tires, suspension, shitty rear tires. All of that and you're good to go.

    Hope that helps,
    Erick

Hmm. Santa Rosa eh? There's plenty of E30 locals around here, but I dont know that any are into drifting :P

And neither do I. In response to your sig, that is. Controlled slide around a race track to be fast, though ;)

Last year, long story. Almost won, and after the race my motor was stolen :( Havent been back on the track since in my own kart anyway, down ~$2500. /sidetrack

Welcome to the forum though :)

welcome to the site, setup your suspension brakes, and driveline then go on a quest for more power.
