Anyone ever make their own harness bar?

So I would like to run harness's for my track car but currently don't have the need for a roll bar/cage nor the funds to make it worth doing. I know you can purchase harness bars becuase of how extremely unsafe it is to to run harness down the the seat sliders but I would like to build one up myself. I was thinking about using the stock upper seatbelt mounts from both the front and rear as mounting points like this

uh... no one is 'hating' just giving advice. If it is a dedicated track car I would think that you would want to be as safe as possible. I guess if anything happens we will just chalk another one up to natural selection.. :p
