What is the going rate for 93 M50 engine under 100K miles with 5 speed tranny complete with ecu and all accessories, manifolds, etic.? Abouts $2k? I'm asking cause I know the later go for more. Does anyone know if local salvage yards deal at all?

Going rate on M50 engines?

Its kind of difficult to pin down what the "going rate" may be since there are a lot of variables to take into account. Things like...
Condition
Mileage
What's included
Location
Knowledge of seller
I've seen complete M50s (including harness and manifolds) with over 100K miles going for less than a grand and a 5-speed tranny should cost more than a few hundred bucks. The best thing you can do is spend some time comparison shopping for similar examples and use the info you gather as a guage to estimate what may be a fair price for an engine you want to buy.
Hope this helps.

Thanks. I've been calling around and yards are telling me $1900-2200 for a 5-speed manual and m50 complete (specifically asked for manifolds, ecu, harness, throttlebody, starter, alternator, A/C compressor, everything) with around 100K miles. The one with the lowest mileage was 83K and asked $1950, from a side impact car. They were asking $1300 for just the engine minus ecu, harness, starter, alternator, compressor, and steering pump. I know they ask high and people have said on here that you're supposed to tell them what you want to pay. I don't want to be unrealistic or get set on an unrealistic figure in my head on what I want to pay. Ideally I'd like to just buy a totaled out E36 and take my time pulling what I need from it and part out the rest, but you need a dealers license to get into those auctions.Eric
