I think that's asian aftermarket. I have "alpina" ones on my white M3 that are the same way. The updated style roundels are actually laminated stickers on top of the plastic base. I had one delaminate and fly off on my E39 (stock emblem) one time.

I had one on my hood that did the same thing to me and iirc I got it from a reputable place (not ebay). I too have noticed the quality to take a dive on these things as well.

Yeah the new ones suck. I replaced one on my e36 with one from a reputable place and it sucks in the quality department

I just had one delaminate and take flight on my Zinno M. This one was on my Alpine M and it did come from the dealer. Has roundel on back with oem part number.

The dealer ones should have black backs now and are dimensional. You can actually feel all the lines and letters... They have changed several times. The ones with a coating like that pictured above are garbage. They discolor in 12-24 months

That's a damn shame. BMW roundels of all things should be high quality. They must be experimenting with different suppliers or something.

New roundels are awful. They should go back to ceramic XD

But seriously, they need to stop degrading their parts. We've been able to rely on OEM parts for forever...

They replaced they with black backs and they feel no better in quality. See in a few months.

Quality goes down while the price doubles and triples...ain't that a bitch. Used to be able to get good OE replacements for like $5.95.

Weird. The ones I bought from pelican are super nice. Maybe I got lucky and got some older ones?

                      I miss the old BMW
