If you take its name at face value, the all-new Subaru BRZ -- short for Boxer Renaissance Zenith -- represents the pinnacle of what Subaru's engineers are capable of, at least when working with their Toyota counterparts. Read on to learn more on the Subaru BRZ set to debut at the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show brought to you by the automotive experts at Motor Trend.
Subaru will initially offer the BRZ in two trim levels: Premium and Limited. The BRZ Premium will cost about the same as a base Impreza WRX and come standard with the aforementioned Torsen limited-slip diff, navigation, Bluetooth, iPod compatibility, and HID headlights. Subaru wasn't clear on pricing or features for the BRZ Limited, but it's safe to assume it will come standard with extras that are optional on the BRZ Premium, like the leather-Alcantara seats, foglights, dual-auto HVAC controls, keyless access, and pushbutton start.

I was thinking about picking up one of these the whole time up until I saw the final design. For some of us, good performance can't outweigh an ugly design.Byron

FR-S revealed on their website
This website is for sale! frs-scion.com is your first and best source for all of the information you’re looking for. From general topics to more of what you would expect to find here, frs-scion.com has it all. We hope you find what you are searching for!
looks more like GT-86 in terms of front bumper and headlights. different grills and no fogs.
it looks like headlights and climate controls look cheaper than the BRZ and GT86 counterparts. no push start and im betting no HIDs standard. so in the USA, its looking like the BRZ is the high spec model. while the FR-S is the bottom spec car.
but they showed us a pic of the rear seats laying down flat! this is what i wanted to see for my snowboard.

I want to finally chime in on this car. As driving enthusiast in today's world of crossovers, hybrids, 1.4 liter 40 mpg cars we are not hard to impress. Light weight, traditional manual transmission, rear wheel drive and decent power and good portion of use are sold. I'm most impressed with the fact that it has a lower center of gravity than the italia (but the comes with a boxer engine).
This car is all Subaru. Not codeveloped like they'ed have you believe. Toyota paid Subaru to develop a car that would compete with the likes of the MX5, Hyundai genesis 370 etc. It really echo's the times when you consider the mighty Toyota went to go t one of their Japanese rivals for help.
What disappoints me is that they are releasing it as almost the exact same car. There not even sister companies. They look far to similar and neither scream Subaru or Toyota (probably a good thing for Toyota). I'm really disappointed at Subaru. Initially there's was supposed to be AWD but at this point they've announced that the engine placement is to far rearward to allow it. There also claiming that they can't turbo it for an sti version, but I don't believe that for one second. I just hope Subaru comes up with a nice sti version, to set it part.
Just a few of my thoughtsI want a nice set of smoked MHW's (I know, get it line)
