    Sure.
Why the hell not? This is r3v right?

fine, I concede loss. What was supposed to be a joke with some merit just failed miserably.

The new 2012 chrysler/dodge/jeep/ram brands are looking very promising. Just sayin

Chrysler needs to drop dodge, make a worthwhile upscale product with chrysler cars, keep jeep focused on actually capable vehicles that uphold the brand (wrangler/cherokee) and then beef up the ram brand.

Dodge cars suck, they are just worse chryslers. I guess I'm upset b/c of how many rental dodge/chrysler vehicles I've driven. Nothing feels more cheap.

That's true, but keep in mind Mercedes still has some of Chrysler in their hands, it was 20% last time I checked, not sure by today if that value decreased or what. It was meant to provide/sell, their technology in certain models/electronic devices, auto trans, etc. Also, the new Grand Cherokee 2011 it's developed under the Merc ML chassis, they share about the same suspension geometry and what not ( I have lifted both vehicles next to each other in my shopp and I could change any control arm over the other and won't change a thing from the point of just looking at it) and like that example there are many more that shares Merc parts in Chrysler products.

So again, Mercedes does suck and that's why Maybach found the dead , because of Chrylser....

The Maybach was head and shoulders tech above the current offerings from other luxury brands. That being said MB went out of their way to make the Maybach diffiult to sell and service. The Maybach could not be purchased from any dealer, or serviced by any dealer. The dealership had to be Maybach certified, which mean that they also had to be Autohaus certified. These are HUGE expenses for the dealer. When I was at the dealer MB wanted the building to have millions of dollars of upgrades performed, I.E. Marble floors, all matching equipment etc. Beyond that you had to have a special room for Maybachs to be sold in. These clients were catered to on a whole new level. When most dealers broke it down what was the point? The S-class is/was a really nice car and many viewed the Maybach as excessive. When Maybach was around only 71 dealers were allowed to sell the brand. Also the Maybach was never based off of the 140 or the 220.

Yeah you should probably double check on that.

Ok yes, I stand corrected in its earliest iterations it was a rebadged job. However, the ones that had actually been designed i.e. the maybach 57 and 62 were their own chassis.

nothing feels as cheap. Interiors of these cars remind me of operating a 40 dollar Mr Coffee machine

What I would have said. This story is kind of old news now though. Now there's just Bentley to compete with.

Ill admit chrysler cars arent the best but their suvs and trucks are better then any euro-jap company's. I cant wait for the Jeep Gladiator IMO. Chrysler is slowly coming back to what they were.

People have to get out of their minds that american companies arent making crappy cars anymore. Itll take a few years, but youll see.

Wrong. The 57 and 62 are the W140 derivatives. There are no earlier iterations unless you want to go back to the 1930s. The styling, electronics, interiors and engines changed but the chassis is just a stretched W140. Its not a bad place to start (gearbox steering and all) if you're building the ultimate luxo barge but MB still managed to screw it up. For that kind of money it was too bland and didn't have the same brand recognition as RR or Bentley.
