welcome to 7 years ago, subaru for a while was using organic based head gaskets, they fixed the problem by going back to the metal multi layers and problem solved. it was also only a issue with the n/a DOHC/SOHC 2.5's.

ive been playing around with subaru's for about 10 years now until i fell into my e30. currently looking to pick up a subaru again because yes, they are ugly in a cool way, make the right sounds, and are simply unstoppable in bad weather.

I love my spec.B! It's been 100% reliable since I have owned it and with a "stage 1" tune, it is pretty damn fun to drive as well. I find it funny that most WRX/STi owners wont even take a second glance at a Legacy, at least in my area. I guess I need some Monster stickers and a flat billed hat or something, some 5 inch fart cans might help too.

I gotta agree hear. They are good cars, just douche bags drive them. I feel the same way about 350 370 and G35 G37s. They all seem to be driven by fratty d-bags. Especially when I only live 5 minutes from a college campus.

For my wife's DD, we picked up a new Legacy so I wouldn't say I hate Subaru's at all. Out of all of the low priced, mid sized cars, I think it is the one that makes you want to stab your eye with a fork while driving the least. I made sure we got the 6 speed manual so there is some fun to be had when I have to go out of town through the mountains.

I was extremely impressed with the performance in bad weather too, nothing like driving through slushy, pouring down rain without skipping a beat.
