    oh boy blower motor

I didnt think that i would have to disassemble the entire dashboard to take out the hvac, but it looks like i do.. Is there any good write ups for replacing the motor its self? because the dashboard has a good write up but im clueless after that.

+1 to what everyone above me has said. it's a surprisingly quick and easy job via the engine bay.

I have same problem, it doesn't look like there is much room between blower motor and intake manifold. Idk I'll be doing this tonight or tomorrow, yay not

it's a bit of a squeeze but really not bad. i removed it from the passenger side and it came out with some maneuvering while removing it easily.

BE careful not to bust up the hamster cages when installing the new one, especially if said new one is used.

Can't wait until I have to do blower motor or wiper motor maintenance on my car with the 24v, there is no fucking room there.

yep def not too hard.. thanks everyone for the heads up and useful link.. then unit i bought was brand new..or re-manufactured idk if the make brand new anymore.. and for everyone else who commented on here about to do the motor unit..the driver side hamster cage is a tight fit between the top of the engine bay and the intake manifold, but if aligned just right there is enough room to push it through and only bend the driver side hamster cage just slightly with out causing damage...idk if there is another smart person angle to find but it worked fine with me..however im not even sure if it works because i still have half my dash apart and no dme in the car. lets just pretend it works fine.

And remember there are 2 different fans before u order a new one. If the "housing" is made of plastic its the widest fan, and if steel its the other one.
And thats if u dont got AC..

you might want to replace the resistor as long as you have her unbuttoned. it's a 30 dollar part that is a common failure. if your fan only works on high, thats the culpret.

This is exactly this issue I ran into a couple years ago. Initially, I thought the fan motor had gone bad but I did a test on the resistor first as a precaution. Turns out the resistor was the problem. I decided to go ahead and replace the fan itself since I had the metal kind and it made some noise during operation.

It's a little tricky gaining access at first, but once you're in the job is rather straight forward.
