Did they ever make them for the E34? Ive been looking for a 528 wagon in a manual but nothing has come up.

You can find 525iT's with a manual transmission. They're not exactly rare, but definitely not too common. Make sure it's 91+. You probably won't be happy with a 3500lb M20 powered car.
Need to make a couple of clarifications/corrections here.
- As DaveCN posted- no US-Spec E34 tourings came with manual tranny.
- The E34 touring started in '92, and came as 525iT (M50) and 530iT (M60 V8) Only in US. So you don't have to worry too much about getting stuck with an M20 525iT. Other variants were available outside of US though.
If you want an E34 touring with manual tranny, you'll either have to convert one, or buy one that someone else has converted. It's not all that hard- about as difficult as the same swap in an E30. It's ALOT easier to do if you have acess to a manual tranny E34 parts car- so you can make sure to get all the little bits + pieces you will need to do the complete job.
