M Tech II is ugly

Hmmmm ok. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. There was a time when few people had this kit and it was quite rare. It was a factory kit that few people knew about or could afford. Today, more people know about it and the factory equipped M tech convertibles. As a result you see more of them on forums like this and there are a lot of white ones out there. Maybe you're just not a kit type of guy. Is there a kit out there that you think is better looking?

More so just bits and pieces of kits. M tech 1 kits look good on certain cars. Racing Dynamics front and rear valance are attractive. The Alpina bits are nice. I think the M tech II kit is the only one I don't like any part of.

im more of a purest when it comes to looks but yea im not a fan myself, for some reason i think IROC-Z whenever i see one.
im not saying they look anything alike its just what pops into my head when i see one .

I have to agree that the lack of contrast sucks with M Tech II. I HATED the fact that my car lost all of the 'black' when I stepped back to survey my car for the first time with the kit... I got over it eventually. I tried convincing myself that the US spec side reflectors evened it out a bit lol

Mainly, I just like it for the fact that it makes the side of the car look chunkier, as IMO regular E30s look 'weak' visually speaking how the sides sort of rounds in and disappears into the rockers. Cars with bigger front lips like iS, rieger, etc accentuate this fact more for me... which is why I felt the black iS lip flowed better because it didn't stick out as much (in comparison to a body colour lip) and it also made the car look level from the side.

Oh, and can't forget the wing. Best part of the kit for me by far :)

That's a good point craz azn. I know exactly what you mean by "weak". I never liked E30's with JUST a front spoiler or a front spoiler and rear apron. Something has to be done about the side rockers, especially if it's still painted black and the car isn't. Same with the 190e's. The later ones look way better with the side cladding.

I do like mtech 2 but by far I would prefer a mtech 1 kit.

I prefer the look of "stock" late models. ie No Mtech/ACS/etc kits.

Just a simple "iS" spoiler and an "i" lip.

eh i like the 190e with the evo II kit more than i like the Mtech II kit... but i do like a well installed mtech II kit with some poke
