Self locking nuts oval top vs nylon.

So the M12 self locking nut that gose on the bolt that connects the trailing arm to the subframe, somehow got loose and came off. Fortunatly the blot did not slip out. Now it is a bit hard to get the original self locking nuts at the moment, the ones with the oval tops.

I have found some nylon self locking nuts that fit I was think of using them and some loctite. Anybody have and issues with these kind of nuts or are they just as good.

Nylon self locking nuts will work fine in this application.

Thanks for the quick response dude. Do you know a website that with a run down on self locking nuts, with the differences and what to use where?

Generally, nylon self locking nuts work fine everywhere a distorted-thread metal locknut will, except for higher temperature applications or liquid environments that will attack the nylon.

I would honestly rather use the genuine BMW locknuts in this application, as they are made in Germany, in a quality-controlled environment, and are probably high-strength (Grade 8.8+). Hardware store alternatives are not always as well spec'd.
